CharCoat CC is a water-based, intumescent latex coating designed to protect single, grouped, or bundled electrical cables from fire. It offers proven fire resistance performance up to 90 minutes under both cellulosic (750°C) and hydrocarbon (1100°C) fire conditions.

Formulated as a flexible, low-VOC solution, CharCoat CC prevents flame spread, maintains cable ampacity, and safeguards circuits in critical infrastructure. It is engineered to protect against real-world fire threats in industrial, marine, and commercial environments—both indoors and outdoors.

What is CharCoat CC?

CharCoat CC is a water-based, intumescent latex coating designed to protect single, grouped, or bundled electrical cables from fire. It offers proven fire resistance performance up to 90 minutes under both cellulosic (750°C) and hydrocarbon (1100°C) fire conditions.

Formulated as a flexible, low-VOC solution, CharCoat CC prevents flame spread, maintains cable ampacity, and safeguards circuits in critical infrastructure. It is engineered to protect against real-world fire threats in industrial, marine, and commercial environments—both indoors and outdoors.

How It Works

When exposed to fire or heat above 175°C, CharCoat CC expands up to 600–700%, forming a thick, protective intumescent char that insulates and shields the cable. This self-sacrificing layer prevents flame spread, inhibits oxygen access to the cable surface, and retains circuit integrity.
